How to Peel a banana

There’s a right way and a wrong way to peel a banana, and it seems that almost everybody does it the wrong way. This was pointed out to me a long time ago and ever since then I find it bizarre that people are putting so much effort into it, and that enough people appear to actively dislike a more convenient option.

The incorrect way is to grab the stem of the banana and rip the banana open. It either requires a ton of force, or the split appears vertically down the banana (requiring more effort to open it enough to get the fruit out). Sometimes the stem refuses to break off at all, so you’re forced to dig a fingernail in to start the split, which makes more mess than there needs to be.

The correct way to peel a banana is to turn it around and open the other end. All it takes is a small pinch, and the banana is open, ready to peel and eat. As an extra bonus, the stem becomes a handle to hold while you’re eating the banana!
